Product Presentation

COMPOSEAL SKY BLUE is a 10-mil thick water barrier membrane for use behind tile and natural stone installations to protect the interior wall/ceiling and Counter/Pullman rough top materials from unwanted moisture and water. SKY BLUE is manufactured in 60" width packaged in 100-foot and 200-foot rolls.

Uses, Applications

COMPOSEAL SKY BLUE is used as a concealed water barrier membrane under Cementitious Backer Units, mortar setting beds or over gypsum products where a waterproof membrane is not needed but where concealed materials need protection from moisture.

Ideal under materials that will absorb or pass water through migration into framing that must remain dry. Negligible shrinkage at extreme temperatures combined with low vapor permeability make SKY BLUE an ideal water barrier for all applications where water is not wanted and where a 30 or 40 MIL waterproof membrane is not necessary. SKY BLUE provides a low cost water barrier over the rough top of the countertops and Pullman tops under mortar setting beds and Cementitious Backer Units.

Limitations

SKY BLUE shall not be used as a shower pan or where a waterproof membrane is required but can be bonded to the shower pan in a shingle fashion lap on shower walls and ceilings. SKY BLUE shall not be used within any system where asphalt or bituminous based products are used. Overall Product In Place

Architect must specify, detail and show locations of all expansion joints within the systems. Architect must specify what recommended TCA Handbook detail is to be referenced if different than shown herein or if a complete Specification is not written.

COMPOSEAL SKY BLUE is designed to protect materials adversely affected by moisture under nearly all surface materials and proper backings.

Materials, Finishes

COMPOSEAL SKY BLUE is ideal to work with: light in weight, easy to fold and impermeable to water. In waterproof installations the COMPOSEAL 40 mil waterproof membrane may be extended 6" up the wall and up any protrusions with the 10 Mil SKY BLUE overlapping.

Code Acceptability, Certification

COMPOSEAL SKY BLUE has been tested for bond strength adhesion and peel adhesion strength and passed both industry tests requirements. COMPOSEAL SKY BLUE complies with ASTM D2103, ASTM C171 or D4397 as a cleavage membrane and moisture barrier.

Warranty
